Privacy policy
Last updated 26 September 2026. This policy explains what LinkLift ("we") collects and why, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- Account: mobile number (verified by OTP), name, optional email and gender (for the women-only option).
- Location: riders' pickup/drop and live location during a trip; drivers' live location while online, so that rides can be matched and tracked.
- Trips and payments: bookings, fares, ratings, payment references (card/UPI details are handled by Razorpay, never stored by us).
- Driver KYC: licence, RC, permit, insurance, PUC and police verification documents.
- Device: push-notification token, app version, crash logs.
Why
To match and run trips, keep riders and drivers safe (tracking, SOS, KYC), take payments, settle drivers, prevent fraud, meet legal duties (tax, aggregator licence, lawful requests) and improve the service. We do not sell personal data.
Sharing
Riders and drivers see each other's first name, masked phone, vehicle and rating for the duration of a trip. Processors: Razorpay (payments), Google Maps (routing), Firebase (push), our SMS provider (OTP), cloud hosting in India. Authorities on lawful request.
Retention and your rights
Trip and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and transport law; live location is kept only for the trip and short safety windows. You can view, correct or delete your account from the app (Profile → Delete account); we then erase personal fields and keep only legally required records. Write to hello@linklift.swastik.ai or the grievance officer for any request.
Children
LinkLift is for users 18 and over. School-trip bookings are made by institutions, not students.
